ONE CLUB celebrates ONE year with a golf tournament supporting childhood education
June is a special month here at ONE CLUB Gulf Shores. It marks the first anniversary of our opening after an extensive two-year capital improvement program. On June 19th, 2018 we celebrated the program’s completion with a grand opening debuting interior and exterior upgrades; and of course the “Best 45 Holes in Golf,” our joint-offering with the neighboring Arnold Palmer-designed Craft Farms Golf Resort.
We capped last year’s grand opening festivities with an 18-hole charity golf tournament, raising $45,000 to support local sustainability efforts. Now, we’re preparing to ring-in ONE CLUB’s ONE-year anniversary with another round of 18 for an equally important cause – childhood education and development.
On Saturday, June 29 ONE CLUB and Craft Farms will host our second annual Charity Golf Tournament. This year’s beneficiaries include High Hopes 4 Autism and Gulf Shores City Schools – two local organizations providing Alabama’s children with key learning and social tools
Participating golfers can play 18 holes comprising ONE CLUB’s nine-hole course and nine holes at Craft Farms’ legendary Cypress Bend. All donations will go towards our charitable causes and UC Funds CEO and Owner of ONE CLUB Dan Palmier, founder of The ONE Foundation is matching all donations up to $45,000 in support of the organizations.
A regional resource for Autism
High Hopes 4 Autism is a not-for-profit organization based in Elberta, Alabama. Founded in 2009 by Rachael Mueller, it provides one-on-one Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)-based therapy for children between 18-months and 4-years-old. Its customized sessions assist with language development and social behavior, helping to build classroom, social, cooperation, motor, vocal imitation, requesting, labeling, and communication skills. High Hopes’ mission was inspired by Rachel’s daughter, who began ABA-based therapy at age two.
The organization’s location on the campus of Elberta’s Saint Benedict Catholic School gives children the opportunity to effectively learn social skills in a traditional school setting.
ONE CLUB’s donation will further support the program and its classrooms.
Enhanced education for area students
Gulf Shores City Schools, based in the southernmost tip of Baldwin County, consists of one elementary school, one middle school, and one high school serving approximately 2,500 academically diverse students. It aims to provide opportunities for its entire student population, setting high expectations and encouraging all students and faculty to reach their full potential in education, the arts, sports, and social responsibility.
The district’s multifaceted mission to provide engaging learning environments, challenging academics, and unique community resources puts students on track to become creative and critical thinkers who can make responsible choices and solve problems independently and collaboratively.
Gulf Shores City Schools will use our upcoming donation to enhance STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Education for all students by further incorporating STEM learning opportunities into its curriculum.
Our 2019 fundraising focus on education and developmental learning is part of Dan Palmier’s goal to help children across the globe live happy, healthy lives. His efforts are reflected in The ONE Foundation’s longtime partnership with InterVol, a Rochester, New York-based not-for-profit that recovers viable unused medical supplies from hospitals and clinics and distributes them globally to help children and adults in underserved communities. We recently teamed up with InterVol close to home, assisting with disaster relief for families impacted by the tornados in Lee County last March.
The ONE Foundation also works with the students and faculties of the University of Notre Dame, Newton Country Day School, Monsignor Farrell High School, and St. Christopher’s School to improve educational access and opportunities for children and young adults.
We’ll kick off our anniversary celebration Friday, June 28 at 7 p.m. with live music by Adam Tyler Brown Duo. Our Target Night Golf Event – Take a Shot in the Dark will begin at 7:30 p.m. and guests will enjoy evening-long food and drink specials.
Check-in for our 2019 Charity Golf Tournament will begin Saturday June 29 at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start at 2 p.m. Rewards will be handed out to the top three teams, and giveaways and door prizes will be available for all. Registration is $75 per player and includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, and a special Annual Charity t-shirt. Registered players will also have access to food, cocktails, and assorted beverages. To register or donate please email golf@oneclubgulfshores.com or visit our CrowdRise page. Day-of registration is also available in ONE CLUB’s Pro Shop.
After the tournament we invite all players and the general public to stop by our Fourth of July celebration at ONE Club’s restaurant and live music venue 45. We’ll kick off Independence Day early with live music by Honey Daze and a traditional bagpipe band. Outdoor fun is also on the menu – with Chippo Golf, Cornhole, Bocce, Hoops, Volleyball, and more!

We hope you’ll join us June 29 to celebrate our ONE-year anniversary by giving back.

ONE CLUB reflects on the 2019 NC Women’s Beach Volleyball Championship
At ONE CLUB, we’re still recovering from the fun and games of this month’s National Collegiate Women’s Beach Volleyball Championship, held right here in Gulf Shores May 3 through 5.
Last year, ONE CLUB enjoyed the NCAA events as spectators while our community amenities underwent a major refresh. But, boy oh boy, 2019 was a game changer.
With a brand new pro-regulation beach volleyball court; a cabana club with two pools and a sauna; and our brand new five-star restaurant, 45, we were able to host many of the college and U19 Gulf Coast Region volleyball teams during the three-day events at ONE CLUB.
“We wanted to celebrate these incredible athletes by offering a home away from home where they could just relax, enjoy, and get game-ready,” said Dan Palmier, owner of ONE CLUB. “We had a blast accommodating the teams with our pools and “relax” areas, providing boxed lunches during many of their competitions, and serving them at 45 with a beautiful view of our first tee.”
A special congratulations to 2019 Champion the UCLA Bruins and all the accomplished volleyball players who came to Gulf Shores. Can’t wait ‘til next year!
Searching for a place to stay during the 2020 championship? Look no further than ONE CLUB. Please email Marillee Davis (mdavis@oneclubgulfshores.com) for reservations.

Here at ONE Club, we want everyone to experience night golf. Night golf uses glow in the dark balls and hit towards various targets along the course.
Whether you’re an aspiring golf pro or picking up a club for the first time, night golf is everyone’s game. If you’re not a golfer, it can be a pretty scary thing to just step out onto a course. Night golf is fun. It’s competitive. There is no experience necessary. It is a great opportunity to experience the game of golf in a non-threatening way.
If you are a golfer, this is a different way to not only hone your skills but have fun with them. Night golf is recommended for golfers and non-golfers; it is a fun time, it is not expensive, and it is a really enjoyable evening.
The best part about night golf is participating with your friends and family. It doesn’t matter your skill level. If you are a first time or a very bad player, it is likely that no one outside your group would be able to see you in the dark. Children tend to love the new approach to frustrating golf to more of an “arcade” look and feel.
With new and enlarged targets, multi-colored markers, and Indiglo balls supplied, Glow Golf is being played at ONE Club all the time.
Some other primetime golf available at ONE Club includes:
- Twilight Golf: Played earlier in the evening just before dusk.
- Nine & Dine: Nine holes followed by dinner at 45 Restaurant & Bar.
- Family Fridays: A chance for your entire family to enjoy evening golf.
- Drive & Dine: Hit balls in the driving range and then grab a meal at 45 Restaurant & Bar (Coming Soon).
There is no time like the present to get into the game. Join one of the events as soon as possible. Contact the ONE Club Pro Shop at 251-968-3234.
